Avonite Surfaces sheets are delivered to fabricators with a factory finish. The final finish desired must be specified to the installer/fabricator as Matte, Satin, or Gloss. Each of these finishes requires different steps and techniques to achieve and maintain. Fabricators may have additional charges for Gloss specifications.

Guidelines for Finishes

Matte
This is a sanded finish and is easily maintained. There is no sheen with a matte finish.

Satin
This finish is achieved by sanding with finer grits and gray ScotchBrite™ and is easily maintained. A satin finish has a low to medium luster.

Gloss
This finish is achieved by polishing the surface after sanding. Gloss finishes have a high sheen and reveal the full depth of the color. Using dark colors with a gloss finish should be avoided for high traffic areas.
